Honeywell FM&T CIO, Terry Owens, Joins KC Tech Council’s Board of Directors

Kansas City, Mo. — The KC Tech Council (KCTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Terry Owens to its Board of Directors.

Owens serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Lead for Digital Transformation at Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, where he leads the organization’s five-year information technology and cybersecurity strategy. His responsibilities include oversight of IT, cybersecurity, information management, business applications, system development, and computer-integrated manufacturing across operations in Kansas City, Missouri, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In addition to his CIO role, Owens leads enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives focused on integrating people, processes, tools, digital technologies, and data across business units.

With more than 30 years of experience in information technology, Owens has held leadership roles across the military, federal government, and public and private sectors. Prior to Honeywell, he served as Chief Information Officer for the U.S. Congress. He also spent more than 23 years on active duty in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Owens was named the 2025 Leadership Award recipient at the Kansas City ORBIE Awards and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Grambling State University. He also serves on the board of the Grambling Friends of Technology.
