Kara Lowe Named Technology Visionary of the Year at Ad Astra Technology Summit

This week, technology leaders from across Kansas gathered in Wichita for the Ad Astra Technology Summit, one of the state’s premier events focused on innovation, emerging technologies, workforce development, and the future of the Kansas tech ecosystem. The annual summit brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, educators, policymakers, and technology professionals to explore the trends shaping the future of our region.

We’re thrilled to share that KC Tech Council President & CEO Kara Lowe was named Technology Visionary of the Year at this year’s summit, presented by Flagship Kansas.

The award recognizes individuals who have made meaningful contributions to technological innovation and digital transformation in Kansas, honoring leaders whose work is helping shape the future of the state’s technology economy.

In addition to receiving the award, Kara joined fellow leaders for the summit’s State of Kansas Tech panel, where industry experts discussed the opportunities, challenges, and momentum driving technology growth across the state.

A recurring theme throughout the day was the growing impact of AI and what it will take for Kansas organizations to successfully navigate this next wave of innovation. Sessions explored topics ranging from building AI-ready cultures and responsible AI adoption to workforce development, digital infrastructure, data centers, and the leadership required to turn emerging technologies into long-term economic opportunity.

Those conversations closely align with KC Tech Council’s work to strengthen the region’s technology ecosystem. As organizations across Kansas and Missouri continue to adopt AI and other emerging technologies, success will depend on continued collaboration among employers, educators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to develop talent, support innovation, and ensure the region remains competitive in a rapidly evolving economy.

We’re proud to see Kara recognized for her leadership and grateful to be part of the growing momentum that continues to position Kansas City and Kansas as leading technology hubs in the Midwest.
