Your Council Info: A Week of Advancing KC’s Tech Sector
From emerging technologies and digital infrastructure to workforce development and regional recognition, the KC Tech Council team spent the week connecting with leaders and partners across Kansas City.
The big picture: Each engagement reflects our commitment to strengthening Kansas City’s tech ecosystem through four strategic pillars: advocacy, talent, knowledge and visibility.
Exploring AI’s impact on our future
KC Tech Council joined American Public Square for a panel exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping business, workforce development and our communities.
Why it matters: Bringing the tech industry’s perspective into public conversations helps advance informed policy, responsible innovation and new opportunities for Kansas City’s growing technology economy.
Highlighting the economic impact of data centers
We convened elected officials, civic leaders and industry experts for a preview of new research examining the economic impact of data center construction and operations across the KC region, Kansas and Missouri.
Why it matters: Providing regional data and insights helps community leaders better understand the economic contributions of digital infrastructure and the opportunities it creates for Kansas City’s future growth. The full report will be released Nov. 13 at the Energy & Data Center Innovation Summit.
Advancing data center development and policy
The Olathe Chamber of Commerce invited us to participate in a panel discussion with regional business leaders on data center development and policies that support a competitive business environment.
Why it matters: Connecting industry perspectives with workforce and policy conversations helps strengthen Kansas City’s talent pipeline and supports continued growth across the region’s technology sector.
Connecting local talent with tech careers
KCTC joined Google and Per Scholas to discuss connecting technology training with meaningful career opportunities.
Why it matters: Strengthening connections between employers, educators and workforce partners is central to helping more Kansas Citians build thriving tech careers while meeting evolving employer needs.
Celebrating award-winning collaboration
The week also brought exciting recognition as KC TechBridge received a Gold Greater Kansas City Public Relations Society of America PRISM Award for Community Relations, celebrating the strategic communications and community engagement supporting its regional tech talent initiative.
Why it matters: This recognition highlights the power of regional collaboration and the growing momentum behind KC TechBridge’s work to connect employers, educators and community partners around shared workforce goals.
