ABOUT CAYMUS PARTNERS
1. Give us your organization’s quick origin story.
Caymus Partners was founded by two women in the recruiting industry, who worked together at previous firms and saw an opportunity to build something meaningful of their own from the ground up. They set out to become a trusted partner within the Kansas City tech community, focused on delivering high-impact talent Caymus Partners specializes in executive and technology recruiting. As the market has evolved, they have become early adopters in hiring across AI and data strategy, helping companies build the talent needed to support innovation and growth.
2. What problem are you currently solving in the KC tech industry?
Hiring in the Kansas City tech market is as messy as we’ve ever seen it. There are so many highly qualified candidates on the market who simply aren’t getting seen by hiring managers. At the same time, hiring leaders are telling us they’re not finding the right quality of talent. This is where we come in. We leverage our experience, network, and industry knowledge to cut through the noise and quickly connect hiring managers with high-caliber candidates. Instead of relying on job postings and inbound volume, we take a proactive approach to bring the right people to the table.
3. What can we expect to see from your company/organization in the next year?
We are on a mission to solve the hiring gap. It’s not just up to us to find the “right” candidate, it comes down to having a true partnership with the hiring authority. We spend time understanding their pain points, where they need to level up, and educating on what it takes to stay competitive in today’s market. When that alignment is there, that’s where we see the most success. We’re not just filling roles, we’re helping build strong, lasting teams. You’ll also see us continue to grow in the data, AI, and emerging tech space as more companies are trying to figure out how to build talent in those areas. And we do have something exciting in the works behind the scenes that we’re hoping to launch soon… we’ll keep you posted 😉

1. If your office was The Office, what character would you be?
If your office was The Office, what character would you be? I’ll be honest, I’ve never fully watched The Office. But we tend to feel like a sitcom ourselves at times and somedays it feels like an episode of Survivor!
2. What’s an app you can’t live without?
For our industry, it’s an obvious one, LinkedIn. On a personal level, Life360. I have 3 daughters, one is expecting her 2nd child; one in New York, and another in transition post-college, it’s the easiest way to stay connected to everything happening in their worlds.
3. What’s your favorite hidden gem in Kansas City?
La Fetta, my daughter told me about this place. She described it as a “holy moment” and she was not wrong! Check it out (not a sponsored ad)
4. What technology tip are you always giving your clients?
From a hiring standpoint, our advice is to use technology with caution. ATS systems are necessary to keep processes and data organized, but over-relying on AI to source and evaluate candidates can backfire. Recruiting, especially at a high level, still requires human judgment, context, and the ability to peel back the layers of someone’s experience beyond what a system can surface. (And let’s be honest, aren’t you tired of reading the same AI resume) We view what we do as highly relationship-driven. The best hires aren’t always the most visible or the most active in the market, and technology alone won’t uncover them. For executive roles in particular, we always encourage companies to be more thoughtful and strategic. The leaders you’re trying to hire aren’t spending time applying to jobs. They expect to be approached, engaged, and evaluated through a more personalized process.
