ABOUT UNLEASHU
1. Give us your organization’s quick origin story!
What started as Wholestack Solutions in 2014—providing IT services to startups—became our greatest teacher. After a decade of helping other companies, we hit our own wall: siloed knowledge, expert bottlenecks, and onboarding nightmares were crushing our growth. The pivot moment? We realized the internal system we'd built to solve our own chaos could help every organization struggling with the same problems. Our customers kept asking, "How did you break down those silos? How do you transfer knowledge without losing your experts?" In 2024, we officially became UnleashU—an empowerment services company that turns individual knowledge into collective power. We went from "working for technology" to making "technology work for people." Our tagline says it all: "Knowledge is power, we share both." Because the best consultants don't create dependency—they unleash potential.
2. What problem are you currently solving in the KC tech industry?
Knowledge silos are killing KC's tech growth. Every growing tech company hits the same wall: their best developers, engineers, and domain experts become bottlenecks. Critical knowledge lives in individual heads instead of being accessible to teams. New hires take months to become productive. When key people leave, institutional knowledge walks out the door. The result? Slower product development, frustrated teams, and stunted growth—exactly what we experienced firsthand. We're helping KC tech companies democratize their expertise by transforming individual knowledge into scalable, searchable systems. Instead of having one person who "knows everything about the legacy system," we create pathways for entire teams to access and contribute to that knowledge. Why this matters for KC: As our tech ecosystem grows, we can't afford to have brilliant companies held back by knowledge hoarding. We're building a more collaborative, resilient tech community where expertise multiplies instead of creating dependencies. The goal isn't just solving today's problems—it's unleashing KC's collective potential so our tech scene can scale sustainably.
3. What can we expect to see from your company/organization in the next year?
At UnleashU, the following year is not about doing more of the same; it’s about continuing to challenge the status quo in how organizations engage with technology and manage knowledge. We believe the future belongs to problem-solvers, those who can adapt, evolve, and drive innovation not by hoarding expertise, but by sharing it. That’s why our focus will remain centered on four foundational pillars: empowerment, demystification, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
4. How can KCTC members get more involved?
We're building this with the community, not just for it. If you're looking for ways to change "it's just the way it is" in the KC IT industry, we'd love to talk. Whether you want to: Share your stories - We're always learning from how other KC companies have tackled knowledge silos, scaling challenges, or team growth. Your experience could be the insight that helps another local company break through. Get to know each other - Grab coffee and talk shop. We believe the best solutions come from understanding real challenges, not pitching services. Let's explore what's possible when KC's tech community shares knowledge openly. Refer a company hitting knowledge bottlenecks or struggling with team scaling. We approach every conversation as a collaboration, not a sales pitch.

ABOUT AUDREY PARKER
1. If your office was The Office, what character would you be?
I’d be a mix of Pam and Jim. Blending Pam’s warmth, creativity, and heart-centered perspective with Jim’s strategic eye, humor, and knack for simplifying complexity. Together, that balance reflects how I approach both people and problem-solving.
2. What’s an app you can’t live without?
The app I can’t live without is ChatGPT. I use it almost daily from simplifying business marketing and breaking down complex concepts, to generating journaling prompts and reframing old beliefs into creative outlets for my passion projects. Learning how to communicate with AI through strong prompt engineering has opened up so many possibilities to make hard work easier. It’s become my creative partner as much as my productivity tool. I love how it bridges both sides of my world: making technology feel more human while also sparking deeper conversations about growth, creativity, and connection. It’s not just an app for me, it’s a co-pilot.
3. What’s your favorite hidden gem in Kansas City?
One of my favorite hidden gems is the Parkville LED Tree in the Creekside Parkville area. It’s an ancient oak with a magical twist. Its a 40-foot digital art installation with 60,000 LED leaves that come alive at night. What I love most is it's not just the tree, but the space around it hosts live music, wellness events, and outdoor seating that really brings the community together. It feels otherworldly and yet deeply rooted in KC culture.
4. What technology tip are you always giving your clients?
Smash the record button. Capturing real work in the moment might feel intimidating at first, but when paired with AI, those recordings transform into learning journeys, procedural documents, and how-to guides that scale across the organization. Your future self (and your team) will thank you for not expecting memory to do the heavy lifting.
