Virgin Hyperloop One is making its Kansas City debut this summer
The Hyperloop experience is coming to Kansas City. On Friday, September 13th, you can see it for yourself at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue. The KC Tech Council, in partnership with several KCTC member companies is happy to welcome the Hyperloop to Kansas City's largest barbecue tradition.
The Virgin Hyperloop One national roadshow kicks off as states and cities across the world, including Kansas City, are competing to be the first to implement hyperloop technology. There are significant socio-economic benefits of early adoption.
The roadshow will give local communities the chance to see first-hand the historic test pod and learn more about their states' progress in bringing hyperloop to fruition in a matter of years.
“On behalf of Greg Kratofil, Jr. of Polsinelli and the KC Tech Council, we are thrilled to welcome the Virgin Hyperloop One XP-1 hyperloop vehicle to our great city of Kansas City, There has been so much excitement and interest in this technology, and we know the Kansas City tech community and general public will be receptive to the demonstration and learning more details. We encourage the community’s attendance at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue to view this cutting-edge vehicle in person, as we are confident it will play a key role in the future of our transportation.” - Ryan Weber, KC Tech Council President
About Virgin Hyperloop One:
New magnetic technology will decrease travel time from hours to a few minutes. Missouri is one of the leading contenders for the premier Hyperloop route. Currently, it takes 3.5 hours to travel between St. Louis and Kansas City. Virgin Hyperloop One would travel between the two cities in approximately 31 minutes.
The KC Tech Council is a proud member of the Missouri Hyperloop Coalition, along with the St. Louis Regional Chamber, the University of Missouri Systems, the Missouri Innovations Center, and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
